The Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) will create a monthly series, UNSCENE!, which will UNleash SHREVEPORT COMMON, debuting the innovative look, feel, tastes, smells, and sounds of this new Uncommon Cultural Community, moving the promise of the Vision Plan from strategic action plan to implementation. Academy Award winning director, animator, public art creator, and UNprecedented visionary Brandon Oldenburg serves as the UNSCENE! Artistic Director, overseeing a diverse Artists’ Management Team to curate 12 UNSCENE! events comprised of national, regional and local artists who will create and present UNconventional new works. Each UNpredictable , UNexpected, UNabashed, and UNabridged “UN” experience will leave an indelible mark that permanently advances Shreveport Common .

BIO:

New Orleans Airlift produces innovative projects for New Orleans-based artists to collaborate and engage with diverse communities locally and around the globe.

Airlift programming highlights our city's underground art and under-the-radar artists, transporting the dynamic street culture, living folk culture and growing contemporary arts scene of New Orleans to far-flung locations around the world for exhibitions, workshops, festivals, performances, and collaborative projects.

Airlift also brings influential artists from abroad to participate in collaborative endeavors with local artists in our own community. We believe that collaboration between artists and across communities shares resources, empowers learning and unites disparate groups in common and powerful goals.

New Orleans is the last great bastion of living folk culture in the United states. Airlift projects honor tradition alongside innovation, leading our artists, culture and communities in meaningful new directions.
